About Us:

The Calcasieu Long Term Recovery Group is a cooperative body that is made up of representatives from faith-based, non-profit, governmental, business and other organizations working to ensure recovery from disasters.
It's structure and composition is patterned, as much as possible, after the over-arching structure utilized in the Long term Recovery Planning activities in response to Mayor Randy Roach's Response Model, Louisiana Recovery Authority Long Term Recovery Planning Model and guidance from both the NVOAD and Church World Service Long Term Recovery manuals respectively.
It is the combined strength of this group that will enable the Calcasieu Parish area efforts to realize a more coordinated and effective approach to:
- Gain more momentum to increase recovery to address the unmet needs including repair, rebuild and construction
- Increase the utilization of (and housing) for skilled and unskilled volunteer labor
- Coordinate and seek resources that will accurately reflect and solicit funding and materials to address the broadcast range of needs
- Communicate an accurate story about the broadest range of activities in support of the long term recovery efforts
